Which is the price of modesty?

Be a good and modest person and everybody will love you. That is a kind of attitude to avoid conflicts, judgments or to be accepted in society as a good member. That is a small line of resistant, don't fight, don't argue and you will live a peaceful life.

Modesty has good sides, so modest person knows where is her place, don't ask for impossible things, stays firm on the ground and know to control herself. Also, a modest person knows to value what she owes. She is grateful to even for small things.

If you are born as a modest person, and you live accord this principle because you like it, this is your right. This is part of your personality, you like to walk, you don't need BMW, you will buy clothes in second-hand shops because you don't like brand fashion.

Conformists love to say what others love to hear. Modesty is sometimes connected with conformism because pushing yourself in the corner is similar. When you are modest, you sustain some material wealth, and when you are conformist, you sustain of rebellion just to please others.

If you say that you are ambitious and that you are different than others, you will be considered as a pretentious egoist with vanity. You will be Louis XIV, pretentious France king.

Self-confidence and self-respect are not appetites for the destruction of others. If I say that I love nice clothes and long journeys, I will not be Imelda Marcos. I just have high standards toward some things and values.

Being modest doesn't mean that you gain real values because you don't want to enjoy some benefits. It is your choice, but why to push your choice to others?

It is wrong to kiss the ground and to announce yourself as a saint, modest angel, because of your rating in the top list in this society. Yes, you don't like me because I am not modest, but I will not cry for this.

If I say: "You can do better.", do I underestimate your modesty as value? Modesty doesn't stream to maximum, it is pleased with golden middle or even minimal results. The bad side of modesty is a situation where you underestimate yourself because you are maybe not aware of your possibilities, maybe your humility made a big shadow over your power.

I look at modesty as a kind of curtain. If a guy loves a modest girl, he will make an effort to seduce her, even he is maybe a too big trophy for her, in her eyes. If a girl loves a modest guy, she will take this as a challenge if she is different, if she loves the race and breaking limits.

Look at someone in casual clothes, and you will think how modest is this person. Just, that is not a complete picture. The modest person could have the joker in the pocket. Poker face is a good sign for modest people because they can win the race at the end.

Should we respond to negative reviews?

Recently I had a discussion in my social media about negative ratings. There was a situation in Goodreads, where I got two negative reviews on my two books. The point was in the way how the ratings were set up. First rating for my book "Body in the waves" was placed under 5-star review from another reviewer. While the reviewer praising my book, the troll came under to say "This is really bad book." Second rating was described as " Poor author needs writing lessons." Both reviews broke standards of reviewing, because there is no visible evidence that book was downloaded in Kindle unlimited or purchased. It was a clear troll act from a new page, without a profile photo and with a nickname. I reported this to Goodreads and they responded me they are processing this. Why the refund is damaging indie authors?

I understand someone can be disappointed with a book. It is like I was disapointed with my trousers online and returned it. What makes a difference, my trousers were 40 euros. The book was 2.49 cents. This makes return funny, because what can you do with this money? Some readers don't understand story behind the refund. The author will get minus royalties. - 0.13 c in my Kindle report, that will vanish when someone else buy the book. The situation happens. Someone accidentaly clicked and bought a book. A random customer wants a refund. Maybe it was not a random move. Maybe the customer clicked, bought and did not like the book. When you don't like the book choose another options, instead of damaging authors. Write a negative review. Write negative one star rating. Don't purchase another books from this author. Five myths about promo sites

Recently I asked for a featured Bookbub deal for one of my books. I got response that my book should be free priced and my expense would be 230 dollars. This is really funny, because I could expect people grab my book for free and give me one star (as it happens when books are available for everyone). To pay such amount of money would be waste and without a purpose. I am mix of traditional and indie author. Having a publisher, but not bestseller books, I am looking for ways to increase my book sales. Promo sites like Bookbub are very expensive and they offer their deals for 25% books from authors who applied for this. I had an insight to author's books who grabbed Bookbub deals.
