My support for authors who are not native English speakers

Do you want to write in the English language, but that is not your native language? Is it possible, to touch the magic stick and your imagination turn into reality?

This is not fiction, nor a start of a fairy tale. This is a true story, about me and my books. In the year 2017, I got an email from my blog follower. She asked for a review on Amazon, for her first self-published book. I did not know that is possible to publish books on Amazon with a help of Kindle. She inspired me to try my idea, so I made a collection of my blog stories and published my first short book guide, "Lost in the virtual world."

That is how my story begins. Since that, more than three years have passed, and I have 12 published books on Amazon.

What I did do?

I hired the editor.

I paid for some covers.

I found a reader's community.

I got about 160 reviews on Amazon.

I have read 100 books from indie authors for three years.

I am a writer from Croatia. Writing in a language that is not my native language was a challenge, but I did it. Faced with critics and lectures, I passed through this without any intention to give up. I was like a too thin and small footballer to play, but he refused to give up.

It will always be criticism around me, and I am aware of this. If your review starts like "I would recommend an American editor", I understand you, but don't reveal something that I already did not know before. That kind of review is something that will native English authors got, too.

Writing in the English language gave me a task to research new phrases, cultures, and habits and transfer myself to an unknown world that is so different from mine. I revealed the negative side too, people who saw the opportunity to earn from me, offering their services even though I did not ask them.

Authors from Eastern Europe and other countries, don't give up if English is not your native language. You have the right to spread the word too.

My greetings to Ellen Khodakivska, Stjepan Cobets, Bernard Jan, and other great authors who are not native English speakers.

6 signs that your readers don't read your book

Your book is live. That day came, and now you need an audience, a reader's community to show interest. What you need are readers who will read and review your book. The author feel excited like a student who went to the exam and waits for his mark. In this situation, you are not afraid of negative reviews. What is the point? Sometimes, your readers are not reading your book. They pretend they read, instead of this they are scrolling pages and write reviews, thinking they are doing a favor. That is why I read 20-30 books per year, I can't do more. A book review can talk much about reader. If the review is short, it could be a sign that a book is not read. Maybe I am wrong, maybe a reader did not enjoy so he left only a note. How to know your book is not read? There are no sign of reading pages in your...
