Female authors: facing with potential fans

Someone bought your book? You got a review? This is excellent news. But, always there is some catch in having potential fans. I am happy when I can deal with normal people, who will buy and read my books, without asking for something extra from me. After all, I am not Agatha Christie, I am not rich and I can't donate my money. It was a guy in Goodreads who liked my profile photos and left a review on my book. Then he started to send messages asking for my private life. I cut this off. He deleted his review, disappointed in his treatment. I was in a position of the reader too and I was never interested in a sort of private communication with some handsome, male author. We can joke and exchange our writing experiences, but to annoy someone is a different point of view.  Often on Instagram, I met some guys who pretend they're interested in my book and then start with their "how are you? do you have a husband?" questions. Or, they ask where to find my books even I clearly...

How to make an interaction with your readers?

Connecting with readers is a hard task. In the world of indie authors, competition is big. Every author needs an audience, and famous authors are an advantage. So, you are not John Grisham or Stephen King, and your audience will not come automatically. To make a reader's community, you need to do next: Read some authors' books. If you read other's author's books, they will maybe read yours, especially because they need readers. Promote other people. You need a chain, and as the chain is bigger, your business is better. Show gratitude. Someone gives you your time by reading your book, so you must be grateful. Make interviews. People believe in visuals, so if you were on television, people might be interested in your work if you reached more than 1000 video views. Don't be a brainwasher. That means, don't show: Egoism. Vanity. Don't look down at other people. Pick up your friend's circle. You need to show attitude. If you let people fool you, if someone is...

It is great to spread your view and knowledge by reading, you can travel to places you never been and find out things you never supposed to exist. As an indie author, I am looking for my readers, I am willing to spread my circle, but people are of various kinds. Not every reader is suitable for every author. Accord my experience, here are 7 types of readers: Fake reader . He will give you a review, but he is not indeed interested to read your books. He just wishes to do a favor but your book is not his choice. Santa Claus reader. This is a person who will take your free book, promise a review, and then vanish. You will never get your review, and this reader is real as Santa Claus. Picky reader. This is an honest person who will immediately say "I am not interested" or "I will read your book. You can get reviews very fast from this reader, he knows what he wishes. Reciprocate reader. This is a person who...
