Why is ignorance bad for authors?

Many authors complain about bad reviews because that is an unpleasant experience. It is not comfortable when you read bad critics about your books, that could be mockery or insults.  However, bad reviews have a positive side, your book is getting noticed. Somehow you touched someone's nerve, or your book really needs work so the reviewer is right. It means you will have a direction on how to fix your mistakes. Unless it is trolling, bad reviews should not have always bad effects. Ignorance is another problem that indie authors face.  You can see it in a few ways: You promoted your book, and invested money, but your sales are low. You asked for reviews, but nobody answered you. You made a status about your book, but nobody clicked a link to buy it. Sometimes, you will get a promise. It would be a promise that will never be realized. It means a polite rejection. "Well, you will have to wait. Currently, I have no time to read it." When you were writing your book, you did not

Featuring indie author Eve Koguce

Today I am introducing an awesome indie author Eve Koguce. Her novel “Neglected Merge” - book one in the Neglected Merge trilogy - is a fantasy futuristic romance set in a utopian-style world.  She has  a confession to make. She doesn’t read fantasy. The main reason for that is that books in this genre tend to be rather grim, but since life has shown her all its faces, not only light and carefree, she seeks additional emotional stirring neither in literature nor in movies/TV series. The Neglected Merge trilogy explores the challenges of universal happiness rather than those hardships we envisage to befall us after some kind of apocalyptic event. Limitations are always suffocating, even if they’re intended to limit your choices to make you miserable. She has been in love with books for as long as she remembers. The typewriter her first attempts at writing had been made at still sits proudly on its shelf in the basement, and when she goes down there, she always has an urge to save it fro

Body In The Waves - my thriller suspense

When the woman said NO, a man must stop his intimacy. Natalija said NO even though she fell in love with Denis, but he did not stop. This is a blurb of my new book. This is not a classical story about rape and revenge, this is a psychological analysis of the victim and her rapist. Natalija is spontaneous and naive, and Denis is a spoiled son raised in a rich family, he is the one who thinks the world is under his feet. His appetite will be bigger, but it is not enough to possess Natalija, he wants to earn money for her because she is the authentic victim.  Natalija's boyfriend Bruno is not someone who would protect her, he was not a man enough until he was pushed to the edge. His priority is his sister Maja, their parents died so he wants to be a father and brother at the same time. In these circumstances, he forgot about his girlfriend who needs attention and he turns her back.  Natalija stays alone, she is struggling for survival, and her appearance is her tool, she will manipu

Booklovers are people who love to spend their time reading books. It is great to spread your view and knowledge by reading, you can travel to places you never been and find out things you never supposed to exist. As an indie author, I am looking for my readers, I am willing to spread my circle, but people are of various kinds. Not every reader is suitable for every author. Accord my experience, here are 7 types of readers: Fake reader . He will give you a review, but he is not indeed interested to read your books. He just wishes to do a favor but your book is not his choice. Santa Claus reader. This is a person who will take your free book, promise a review, and then vanish. You will never get your review, and this reader is real as Santa Claus. Picky reader. This is an honest person who will immediately say "I am not interested" or "I will read your book. You can get reviews very fast from this reader, he knows what he wishes. Reciprocate reader. This is a person who

I will kill you in my dream - by Kristina Gallo

This is YA supernatural horror story. Helena just wanted to live like an ordinary teenager. She was a victim of the wrong education system in ex Yugoslavia.  The trauma destroyed her youth but as compensation, she got the unexpected power. Just, her dreams turn into nightmares which became true. Nothing will be the same after unexpected events, things will go in an undesirable direction and she could not control it. My story is based on real events and you can find it on Amazon, an e-book, and a paperback edition. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NRZBNVC/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_3RRzCb0CEVM20 From the preview: It was a curse for young people in Croatia. Even if you were only sixteen, you could find a way to get a beer. You could smoke and get laid. What was funny was you couldn’t stay late if your parents decided. So, your curfew was generally 12:00 a.m. This club would close at midnight, as the city did not issue licenses to work later, and your parents would take you home

How to make a good book review?

I started as an indie author a year ago. Like every writer, I met with various kinds of people. Many of them supported my work, and I am very grateful to them. Also, some authors underestimated me, in a way “you need to learn a lot, to read more books from other authors, don’t rush with your stories. “ Every author needs a review. In this way, a book will get free marketing, because readers will grab a book that is recommended . Which was the movie you last saw in the cinema, and why? For sure, it was the one that the media recommended. Later you decide did you like it or not. The same is with books, you wish to see why people brag about a book, what is so special there? Impressions are very important. I read and review about 22 books. My intention was to expand my knowledge, improve my English, and help authors dear to me. I chose them by myself because I am allergic to recommendations like: “Read and review my book. Purchase it.” This reminds me of sellers door to door. Thos
