Book sales: 7 kinds of useless interactions

Selling books is the main thing that authors post on social media. Book fairs are essential places for traditional authors. Indie authors can't afford to sell there.

Social media are our space and we need to demonstrate our skills, and how to find as many readers as it is possible.

To find readers, you must learn how to read between lines. You can get a thousand followers and more, but most interactions will fail.

If you want to engage with people on social media, you need to avoid these kinds of interactions:

Fake promises. People who promise to read your book, delay and it never happens.

Read for reading. I will read your book if you read mine. Conditions for reading in return are banned on Amazon. You can read other authors' books, but it must be your choice.

Good luck or I pray for your sales users. Those are people who wish to support you, but they don't click on your payment link. Those wishes are useless.

Spammers who use tarot cards, bitcoins, or nudity. They can share your link, but they are not your targeted audience.

People who want to date. Unfortunately, some people use business sites such as Twitter and Goodreads to ask for a soulmate. Those who are not interested in your books.

Cover creators, promotional sites, and editors who offer their services. Those people will inbox you to provide their services and you will need help to sell your book.

People who post memes. That kind of person only wants to make fun of social media. They will provoke or laugh to your interest.

The book market is a minefield. You need to avoid those baits and be careful with whom you are dealing. Saving your time and money is a part of success.

you will ask me, how to engage and find real readers?

Make step-by-step for successful sales. Between your followers are your readers. If you talk to people in public you might notice someone's interest. If someone praises your blurb or reads this genre, that person could be your reader.

Readers are people in shopping. They watch, observe and pick books that capture their attention. And when it is a holiday, like Valentine, Christmas, or Woman's day, they wish to give a gift to someone. There is your opportunity too. Your book is a gift, and your readers are on the way.

The author feel excited like a student who went to the exam and waits for his mark. In this situation, you are not afraid of negative reviews. What is the point? Sometimes, your readers are not reading your book. They pretend they read, instead of this they are scrolling pages and write reviews, thinking they are doing a favor. A real reader will need time to read book. It is not fast eating and swallowing, there is much more in reading books. It demands your time, focus and attention, also understanding. That is why I read 20-30 books per year, I can't do more. A book review can talk much about reader. If the review is short, it could be a sign that a book is not read. Maybe I am wrong, maybe a reader did not enjoy so he left only a note. How to know your book is not read? There are no sign of reading pages in your...
