Author Stjepan Vareševac Cobets

One of my favorite authors from Croatia is Stjepan Cobets. S tjepan Varesevac Cobets was born on 12 September 1965 in Split, Croatia. He lives and works in Kastel Sucurac, where he finished elementary and secondary school. At a very young age, he started reading and loved it because, through books, he traveled to places he could never visit in person. He loved fairy tales and adventure but later discovered other genres as a child. When he found a Jules Verne book in the library, he became fascinated by science fiction. He has been writing poetry for fifteen years and has started writing science fiction. Lately, he has also written children’s fairy tales and fables. He published in Croatia poetry collections “An Opened Heart” in 2002, “The Sleepy Way” in 2005, and “Love” in 2006. On Amazon, he has published science fiction novels such as “Godeena” in 2015 and “The Dream of the Forest” in 2018, the science fiction short story “Butterfly” in 2016, and several novellas including “The Colle

My book : What does it mean to be black sheep?

Having a problem to fit in, I was searching for solutions. So, I wrote a self-help book about different level of rebellion.  Whatever you believe,  you can live if you don't accept conformism. Feeling that you don't fit in? Everyone turns back to you? You are blamed for everything? You are a black sheep and accept your label. Check out my book in Amazon. Short stories about rebels. The review :  Ever felt like you don’t fit in? Don’t worry, help is at hand. This great self-help book by Kristina Gallo is all about being not fitting in and feeling like the “black sheep.” Kristina teaches us that you don’t have to change yourself to fit certain situations and people. When we do this, we start to lose a sense of our true self. Fitting in can feel like the easier option, but does it challenge us to do new things and grow as people? I recommend reading this book if you’ve ever felt like the black sheep in your family or place of work. There’s a great chapter on how to build self-conf

Author Phil Price

Today I am featuring one of my favorite authors, Phil Price.  Phil Price was born in Sutton Coldfield in 1974. He lived in various places in the UK until his family settled in Rednal, a suburb on the outskirts of Birmingham in 1979. Growing up with an older brother and sister, he always flirted with reading, his home always littered with books. Then in 1997, Phil embarked on a travel expedition that took him from Greece to Thailand, via East and Southern Africa. Sitting in dusty bus stations in Kenya, Tanzania and Malawi with Wilbur Smith and James Herbert accompanying him, his imagination was sparked into life. Since those far-off days, he has never been without a book to read. Phil started toying with the idea of writing a book in 2009. After writing a few short stories, he caught a whiff of an idea in his head. It started to evolve in 2010 until he had enough to begin his writing journey. Marriage and two children came along, with the story being moved to the back burner for perio

How authors' profile should look like?

Inspired by Instagram, I am writing this post. Many authors want to get followers there using the option follow to follow. How much is this kind of following honest and why does it look like a manipulation? Imagine you are going shopping. The vendor says: "If you buy this, I will buy something from you." This is not how things work, isn't it? The same is with social engagement. If you want to follow someone, you will do because this profile is something that attracted your attention. Some authors need to be more informed about what the author's profile should be like. A basic belief about the author's profile: Book links. Book covers. Book presentations. No profile photos, no selfies, or memes. If you have a photo, let it be professional. Now, I found some links that want to earn by photographing authors.  Authors are people. It means we have our emotions, reactions, and imagination. The primary task of every author is to represent himself to readers. Here is what

Book sales: 7 kinds of useless interactions

Selling books is the main thing that authors post on social media. Book fairs are essential places for traditional authors. Indie authors can't afford to sell there.  Social media are our space and we need to demonstrate our skills, and how to find as many readers as it is possible. To find readers, you must learn how to read between lines. You can get a thousand followers and more, but most interactions will fail.  If you want to engage with people on social media, you need to avoid these kinds of interactions: Fake promises. People who promise to read your book, delay and it never happens. Read for reading. I will read your book if you read mine. Conditions for reading in return are banned on Amazon. You can read other authors' books, but it must be your choice.  Good luck or I pray for your sales users. Those are people who wish to support you, but they don't click on your payment link. Those wishes are useless.  Spammers who use tarot cards, bitcoins, or nudity. They

Authors: how much is your talent important?

Speaking about books, today everyone wants to earn from indie authors. Many posts are about covers, editing, book formatting and blurbs, reviews, and promotions. Everything of this is important, a book must look good visually.  Did we forget talent?  How much is your talent important for your success? I can give examples of authors whose books look great visually. Everything is perfect for promotion, editing, covers, and blurbs. The book looks like it is from the library. When you start reading, you are disappointed. A boring story can't impress you. Now, does it help because the book looked good? In this condition, everyone could write and present himself as an author with a good budget. If you don't have talent, these good-looking books are similar to an ugly face covered with great makeup. Your books are filtered, but they are not worthy of attention. What makes a good story? This story must capture your attention and time. If you want to know what happens next, you will rea
