Who are bestseller authors?

Many times is possible to see a title under author's profile, a bestseller author. This mark is not true in many cases, because bestseller author should sell million copies.

Scammers do abuse when they copy profiles of bestseller authors and bother people in their inbox, pretending they are experts who can help you. The last case I saw was the copy of author's profile who wrote a book "The White noise".

Scammers will talk about your books and offer you promo for big prices. The only thing you will get is an empty wallet.

Some indie authors can't face with reality. Yes, you will sell books if you advertise it, but this will be a small ammount. Random sharing links with books is not effective, you can be suspended for spamming pages.

For a good marketing, you need a trustful agent or influencer who will represent you. This one doesn't come in your inbox filter. This person is hard to find, you need recommendations from other authors.

Pretending to be a bestseller author with a blue mark can get you more followers, but if result is not here, this looks fake. Bestseller authors will not contact other people, they will not brag about their books. Everything else is a fake attempt to pull attention.

Bestseller authors are level up. They are not checking their social media, their agents and promotional team are doing this instead of them. If so called bestseller author contacted you, you are a target of scam. It is enough to check their page, IP address are not from USA, it is from Nigeria. Also, they are following more people who don't follow them back. So, do you ask yourself, what kind of bestseller author is followed by hundred people? Their following score should be counted in million followers.

Imagine if you listen to their advice and invest your money you will never get back. The solution of small sales number is a better option.

Swapping books - a devil's deal

"I will read your book if you read and review mine." This is an example of author's deal when it comes time for reviews. Reviews is hard to get. If you sell books, it is still not guarantee you will get reviews. If I could get a review for every book I sold, it would be great. People will buy book to collect it on the shelves and leave it un-read. Or, they will read but not rate it. Many reasons are for not getting reviews, but some people don't know where and how to write reviews or are not eligible. That is the reason why authors will turn to other authors, with a proposition for review. The danger of such review is on Amazon rules: author can't review other's author books on request. I love to read indie authors and they inspire me, but I have my circle and I never accept offers to read someone I never heard about. Once I got a proposition :" Hey, I saw your review for XX author, can you write it for me, too?" I ignored it. When you have a deal ...
