Not everyone is your fan. When some people found out for my blog, they were mean and skeptical. Some of them thought, based on their ego, that I write about them. When I progressed and became an author, they reacted with a smirk. Today I have 20 published books. Some are published traditionally,  others independently.  I have my channel and audio book. I did not pay much attention to criticism.  Those who live boring life always want to comment others. My supporters are in my social media, I collaborated with many awesome authors. I am still learning how to improve myself in my books. I am not here to be everyone's cup of tea.  The only competition to me is my character.

Finding authors and readers who will share your enthusiasm is a great thing. Collaborating, exchanging ideas and tips is even better. How the collaboration should look alike: Improving your writing skills. Reading some books can help you to get inspiration. Getting important informations. You never know in which way you can promote your books. Getting some subscribers and followers. Social media can't exist without followers. Everyone should avoid abuse of collaboration, so these are alerts: Authors are not your customers. If author is not interested at your books, accept this.   I saw a post from the author who has a small number of followers. He complaint how big account ignored him, instead of helping with his promotion. There are lot of author's communities to help with book visibility, but forcing people to support you is a wrong move. If you see authors with big accounts, have in your mind that there are hours, months and years of collecting followers. Using paid advertising, promo pages, exchanging messages with others and solving unpleasant situations with trolls demands a lot of time. If you have a regular job, and mostly indie authors do, pressure is even bigger. After all this, you should connect some beginner with your account? Here are lot of reasons why every author should plan his trip alone. You can ask for a support later . Every author is different, based on genre, style and abilities.
